The opioid epidemic is reaching massive proportions. Nationally, 78 people die of an opioid overdose. In Virginia, 3 people die every day from an overdose. Too many families in Virginia and nationally, are dealing with heartbreak and loss as a result of opioid abuse. At Life Cycles Counseling, we know that dealing with a loved one who is abusing drugs can leave you feeling alone and confused. Captain Zohab has made it his mission to reform the way Richmond police handles individuals addicted to drugs.
Michael Zohab has been a Richmond police officer for 28 years. The majority of his law enforcement career has been primarily with drug enforcement. In 2013, Michael saw a need for the renovation of how law enforcement addressed opiate addicts. The drastic increase in over-dose victims, coupled with years of professional and personal contact with individuals struggling with addiction, fueled a passion to be a change agent in this opiate epidemic. In 2016, the Virginia Recovery Foundation was formed.
We hope you attend Michael Zohab’s presentation. If you are a parent or loved one of someone struggling with addiction, this presentation is for you. Not only will you be well informed on how law enforcement is helping and supporting individuals with addiction, you will also meet others that can relate to what you are going through. Who doesn’t want to find their tribe? I know YOU do! Come and hear Michael Zohab talk about current overdose trends, opioid addiction, and his new initiative that has everyone buzzing with hope!
