This fall we will be hosting our “Kick Off the Fall Stress Free” Open House on October 20th from 6-7:30pm.
This event will feature several ways you can overcome stress in your daily life. These breakout sessions will include yoga, animal assisted therapy and art intervention. Here’s a little bit more information about what each session will involve.
Our yoga breakout session will by taught by Kay Franz. Kay is a NAMA certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor and an Advanced Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist.
AYURVEDA & YOGA FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT
Using daily practices from these 5,000 year-old traditions, learn to reduce stress, manage your stress reactions and create a lifestyle that supports your own efforts at health and wellness. We will introduce some daily rituals and the importance of these strategies for self-nourishing. You will also learn a simple yoga pose and breath technique that anyone can do to reduce stress, calm the nervous system and quiet the mind.
Interested in learning more about animal assisted therapy and how it can benefit your overall health and wellness? Join us October 20th and not only learn about how canine therapy can decrease stress, blood pressure, and anxiety but also meet one of our very own canine therapists Goose!
For our art intervention break out session, we will be making glitter jars. These glitter jars have several benefits:
1. Who doesn’t like playing with glitter?? They serve as a grounding technique. When you shake the jar, you are transfixed watching the glitter swirl and eventually settle…giving you enough time to settle your thoughts.
2. This activity will help you focus more on the present and care less about the past-go ahead and unleash your 12 year old self. I give you permission 🙂
RSVP to the event today at (804) 536-9143 to save your space – this event is FREE and open to anyone who is interested!
